Dd was a bump from 5.1 to 7.1 with added support for atmos but is still compressed audio like an mp3. Its compressed to 800kbps or something like that. Dd true hd you see on disc's is uncompressed and supports up 18000kbps. So a huge increase in avaliable audio detail. But huge files, that's why you don't stream it. Accordingto this article you can play Dolby Atmos through a compatible Soundbar then it says the only audio format choices are stereo and "Dolby Digital 5.1". Does Apple consider Atmos the same as Dolby Digital 5.1? I can't get it to stream Apple Music Atmos content from either of those choices while connected via HDMI to a Sonos Arc Soundbar
AnAtmos track consists of a "bed" stream and metadata: In cinemas, the bed stream is typically 7.1.2, which is the maximum that Atmos can be encoded with.
